Good politics can resolve them into peace!
When religion loses it's important in the Middle East, tensions will definitely calm down. However, it's also about racism, and then will probably have to be calmed through compromise.
When people stop giving the extremist fringes on both sides the most attention and realise that your average person is rational and wants to live a life where the their family won't get blown up. That is the essence of what will bring about peace.
Stop viewing the whole from the extremities of the situation and find the common ground.
Will that happen? I don't know, I certainly don't think the near future holds much hope. The extremists from all sides are currently screaming too loudly and keep bringing religion into their argument. Any argument enriched by religion is quite likely to be devoid of rationality.
Good politics and politicians with a mature approach can resolve the situation. To my mind, it is only the extremists preventing it. Many on both sides are ready to resolve it.
