Help answer this question below.

My cat Nermal cries all the time.Then he goes down stairs in the basement and does the ugly cry. He's only 9mths old. He's alway's been a whiner but this excessive. Does this mean he need's fixed?

    The caterwalling is because he has come of age and wants to mate.

    Get him neutered if he will be indoor cat only. They tend to be less agressive and if he gets out he may not defend himself as well as a non-neutered cat.

    Yes, you need to get male cats neutered by the age of 6m. He has probably picked up a sent of a female cat and has triggered his "natural male response" by howling to call her. Watch out for spraying! If he is howling he is probably marking his territory by spraying. Everyone should get their pets neutered and spayed by the age of 6m.

    Thank you I wasn't sure if he was to young.Because he's been doing it so long, and it has gotten worse.
