  • You want a medal or not. No such thing as too strict if your dead serious. You have to make numerous sacrifices that most people could never understand.
  • Guess my question didn't come out right. I mean the curriculum & training ways. As in overtraining, not enough classtime due to gym time, etc.
  • If this is a live in school for gymnastics then the training should be very serious. These kids will be training towards international standard competition and will no doubt be selected as being highly talented. It should be very strict, if they just wanted your regular run of the mill gymnastics training then they could attend a club anywhere. There should be very strict rules abput diet and sleep. Not getting the right foods or adequete sleep will be very detrimantal to the health of the kids as they will be training very high hours. These rules will be essential to their helth and safety. They should be training a very high number of hours if they ever wish to reach international standard competition. A rough guide would be 15 years and older 35-40 hours a week training 12-15 years old 30-35 hours a week training 10-12 years 25-30 hours a week training 8-10 years 20-25 hours a week training 6-8 - 10-20 hours a week training 4-5 years 4-10 hours a week training Classroom time is less important, any child who reaches this level in gymnastics will be an exceptional child, most elite gymnast get excellent grades but spend far less time in the classroom and studying. It sint nessesary to spend so much time on academic education. Quality not quantity is the key.
