non-religious people will say it would be better. religous people will say it would be worse. If we look at what religion has brought to the world though, we can say it would be different indeed. Religion helped spread art and math through the 15th century as well as the beginning of abstract thought through the Arab nations in the Ottoman empire which has spawned most modern day thought process. The arguments against religion pushed science during the industrial revolution with people trying to prove anything they could do discredit the Pope. There are many advances in societal norms from religion such as the equal treatment of women (if you say I'm wrong just watch the news about Islam, I'm gonna scream) and many of the laws we have regarding abortion. In my opinion, without religion, we would be much worse off as far as our societal advancement but we wouldn't have as many wars. The question we need to ask is, are the wars worth the advancement. I think that they are. I think that although war is unfortunate, it is a byproduct of advancement.

We would all be living in wonderful peace loving societies devoid of any religious hatred. Like the old Soviet Union. Wonderful place, indeed. North Korea is a dreamy place to raise a family. Mao's China would also be great. Oh, if only we could end religion in the world!
