How old are meteorites?

    It all depends on where the meteorite formed.
    Ones that formed in our solar system are roughly the same age as the Earth.

    How do we know: Well Radiometric dating of meteorites has placed them at the age of 4.55 billion years, which is the approximate age of the solar system.

    If they formed outside the solar system which would be very rare indeed, then it would have to be dated by the same process (ie Radiometricly)

    I would think it would depend on each meteorite and where it came from.
