Disposable contact lenses are meant to be worn for the period of time that is in their name. Believe me, they certainly EXIST longer than that time period, although it's not recommended to use them longer!

2 week disposable lenses are meant to be worn only during the days. They are to be disposed of on a 2 week cycle. They still require nightly cleaning with the appropriate fluid.

There are various types of contacts marketed as a 2 week lens. Talk to your optometrist about yours. Allot of these "2 week" lenses are meant to be used during the day for two weeks. That mode of wear is called daily wear. Extended wear is the term applied to wearing them overnight. Again, ask your optometrist.

it refers to wearing time. you can wear them longer than that, but its bad for your eyes, plus you end up going blurry anyways. i havent heard of 1-2 weeks, i have 1 months. if you are planning on getting contacts, make sure you get the softs =]
