  • I think I am going to start saving now, so I can go burn all of my money at once I would be burning seperately on. It's so expensive, but with all of the features, it's worth it (for me, at least). I would use them all, that's for sure. Now I don't have to buy an iPod, a digital camera, a cell phone and all of that at different times, I suppose. And I actually need an upgrade on all of those things.
  • Hot damn! I am in lust.
  • new iphone?
  • I love it! I've been waiting for this for a while. A tad expensive, but the features and apps are probably worth the price. ----------------- And to those out there who told me it was just an urban legend when I posted a question about it last month, BITE IT!!! LOL http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/01/09/iphone/index.php
  • I gotta get one - but doubt they are available in NZ
  • I'd be interested to see the actual battery life of the phone when you use options besides the phone. My Video iPod only gets about 1-2 hours battery life when playing video. The camera is decent, but at only 2-megapixel it would replace my digital camera. I'm impressed with the storage capacity. Overall though, I don't like having this many options on a phone. I'd prefer to have a phone with simple net access, and then a separate device for all of the other options this has.
  • I want one. I might go for the second generation, as first generation devices tend to have flaws that are quickly fixed. It seems REALLY cool, though. Many people don't like it because it lacks 3G, but it has Wi-Fi and I'll be on a completely wireless campus next year, so... EDIT: Read this: http://www.suntimes.com/technology/ihnatko/215441,CST-FIN-Andy18.articleprint
  • I want one. I want to combine my mobile phone with my pda and my camera and have wireless connectino to the interent. Of course there were devices that did much of that before the iphone - but the iphone has such a much better user interface and very few of those devices did all of those things.
  • Technically its a great phone. Cost wise its little expensive but than again i have treo 700w which I bought for 500$ish in first week of its coming out. Since I do already have Treo and don't care much about any of the cool features of iphone, eg mp3 player, I will most probably pass on it. Other big reason is that its going to be cingular in the beginning and I contract with Verizon which I don't want to break out of. Wifi in my opinion is probalby not useful much. We will have to see how the battery life is when you are using all the cool features on that phone. On my Treo if i have my bluetooth on and stay connect IM, my battery will barely last me a day. Therefore, i don't use those two features much on Treo. I am assuming its probably going to be same thing with iphone but lets see what future holds.
  • It's the future, haha but to expensive for me... maybe microsoft will come out with a zunephone
  • they r u-g-l-y
  • A copy cat name of the real iPhone http://www.iphone.com/. Change the name and your phone would be awesome Steve Jobs!
  • I think it is a great little gadget that I will never own. Ever. unless of course it is given me. :)
  • Think about an ipod with a built in phone
  • i think the whole line of Apple Products make me crave apple pie.... but in all seriousness, I support Steve Jobs 1287433924789342347293847% more than Bill Gates. So anything he does I like. And besides, he's got unique design and products that are really cool and work well. I'm exited about the iPhone...
  • i know this website that tells u when it will be available in ur area and when it will be in stock
  • If it's as good value for money as the Ipod, and as well-built as their recent computers, I would not want to own one.
  • I want one but don't need one and can't afford one so will just have to lust over a picture.
  • looks cool, not sure if parents willl lemme have one ¬¬
  • I think the first few versions of the iPhone aren't going to be that great, but in a year maybe that will come out with a generation that will fix many problems.
  • Its seams good, not great but good. But the price I heard quoted on the radio today £1500. No Chance, not worth it.
  • Over priced for what it is.
  • way too expensive
  • It is just another devise to waste precious energy on,the energy that could be used to improve our lives.
  • I think it is GREAT for portable device technology, Apple is pushing the envelope with this thing. Its all about innovation, people! Now is it something that everyone needs? NO. I'm a Mac user, but can't fork out the cash for one of these iPhones. It's overpriced at this point. I think its gorgeous to look at, but would I be more productive with it? I don't think so. That is until specialized apps are developed for the iPhone! Then it'll really start to leave a large footprint in the technology world. My question in about battery life. Will it be any good?
  • My thoughts: - No 3G: What?! How revolutionary is it without 3G? I know Apple cut it out because it would have made the battery drain even faster that it does now, but at least it should have been an option. Then the user can step down to EDGE to conserve battery if necessary. Better yet, the "revolutionary" iPhone should step down automatically to conserve battery or when 3G is not available. - Poor battery: Jobs claimed 8 hours of use time. Not true according to users who've experienced only 2 to 3 hours of use (talk, web, music.) - No Exchange Server mail push: Necessary evil. - Touch screen keyboard: Yes, Multi-touch is slick, but for avid texter like me, you can't beat the physical keys for speed. BTW, where's the period and comma keys? I don't want to flip to another screen for punctuation. :( - No streaming/purchasing of music directly on iPhone: What?! I have to side push music unto iPhone using a computer and iTunes? Serious negatory. - No Flash/Java on Safari: Dude, didn't Jobs say surfing on iPhone will be just like surfing on a full blown browser on a computer? If I wan to surf WAP and XHTML sites, I can do that with pretty much any phone on the market today. - AT&T: Biggest mistake by Apple IMO. I can't believe it. Recent Consumer Reports magazine article found ATT had the lowest signal strength among the four big cell carriers in 19 of the 20 major US cities. ATT's claim of "lowest number of dropped calls" comes of bunch of asterisks. - iPhone will not work at all unless you have an ATT contract. Even the iPod functionality and WiFi will not work unless you have a ATT plan. WTF?! I can understand the phone not working but the MP3 player function doesn't work either? Debby Downer would be proud. - Call quality: Ultimately, iPhone is a phone and from what I have experienced at Apple stores and friends who've bought iPhones, quality of calls is average-poor. - Price: $600? Um...I'll take a PS3 and bunch of games and "make do" with a free PDA phone. Final verdict: I'm waiting until 2009 for the second version with 16GB, 3G and better call quality at $399. Then I'll think about buying it.
  • In the words of Cartman from South Park: "Sweeet" lol
  • The iPhone rules! There was a lot of hype leading into the release of this one. I was very skeptical that the iPhone could live up to expectations. So far so good though!
  • kinda, only because they talking about it too much.
  • I'm not sure. I'm waiting for the reviews of those who actually bought them. Advertising never tells of any existing or potential problems.
  • I think it is extremely cool - particularly after playing with a demo in the store. My piece of feedback - the screen gets greasy. I want one, but am not in the position to blow 600 bucks on a phone right now...
  • This first one is Wayyy overrated! Was watching the news couple days after they went on sale....there were lots of problems with them including not being able to activate it. I say if you want the iPhone atleast wait till the second or third generation iPhone comes out because then they would worked out some of the kinks. And also they may be cheaper.
  • I really don't see the need for a $600 telephone. For $600 it had better be able to dial the calls AND speak for me, while massaging my back, cooking my meals and folding my laundry.
  • its really cool but i wouldn't spend all my money on it. the iphone is more of a mini protable computer than a cell phone.
  • Waste of money.
  • Expensive. I would buy it if it first of all came to Canada, and got cheaper.
  • New iPhone? As far as I know, they're still on the first generation of them (which have been out for a while). I like it a lot. I was very close to buying one but I've decided to wait for the second generation. First generation Apple products are usually far worse than the second generation.
  • Nice!I like to buy it.Sourcingmap.com now offers several Cases for iphone 3G starting at $2.99 each. Not including postage. it's the lowest quote price we've seen for cases for Apple's soon-to-be-released iPhone 3G. http://www.sourcingmap.com/iphone-cases-c-983_1757.html

  • I have a new iphone 3G. It is one of the best phones I have ever owned. It is very functional and puts everything at ones fingertips. It is very user friendly and with new apps the sky seems to be the limit; however, the limit is controlled by Apple and they limit what I can load in my iphone to items purchased through their store. I have been trying to jailbreak the phone, but haven't been successful yet.
  • Too much hype..not enough phone. I think they are good starter phones for people that want to step into the pda phone market...but they are lacking in a lot of ways. There are a lot of other phones that offer all the same things that cost less as well as having safeguards. By safeguards I mean this, how many people have had a screen crack on their cell phone but still been able to call using just the buttons? I worked for Radio Shack for 2 years and can say that it is a huge number. If the screen cracks on the iphone you are out a phone until repaired. Not to mention not being able to change the battery. Sure, it's slick and cofortable, very powerful, user friendly, it looks good and all that...but it has some downfalls that I can't see past...get the 8925 Tytn II instead...it's what I have and I can't imaging a better phone.
  • Totally pretentious. And, yes I want one.
  • They are to expensive, and they are cheap (Meaning they break easily.
