If anything, the black leather jacket and engineer boots made the Fonz somewhat of an anti-hero. Only his curious "wisdom" offset the negative image of the era. But what do I know? I've worn engineer boots, Beatle boots, all sorts of boots ... and I spent most of the cold months of the year in a black leather jacket (one has a huge embroidered eagle with "God Bless America" on the back). I suppose that I may even be viewed as heroic by some, so I am quick to give the Fonz a pass. ;-)
