Lots do for many reasons anxiety, fear, past history. It just depends on the situation.

I ask the same about women..... It doesn't appear to be a gender specific problem.... The guys with commitment issues will just be more obvious about it. Women with commitment issues seem to string you along cause they don't know what they want and don't make a decision, hurting the guy after a long drawn out ordeal. Guys will just tell you outright, and hurt the woman a lot more suddenly.... Hmmm maybe I'm being a little judgmental on both accounts. Your thoughts?

Generalizing that ALL men have commitment issues is not a way to get ANY man to commit. You are TELLING him that he has - or SHOULD have - commitment issues. What if he DIDN'T have them until you mentioned this? And not all men do. Many times women are more afraid of getting TOO close to a guy, because "it'll wreck our friendship". Of course, there are guys who think that, too, but looking at it from the guy-side (since that's what I am), it tends to make it hard to tell WHEN to say something, or become committed, when the girl is questionable about it, or doesn't want to feel "pushed" into it. Now, if you're talking about teens, or some of those in their 20s, many of them are "sowing their wild oats" or partying, and don't wish to be "tied down". When they get to that point, it may be too late for them with the girls they were REALLY interested in. (Again... The same goes for SOME girls.)

Of course, some men have commitment issues but from what I have observed from life, most men want a woman that they can call there own. Many are just waiting for the right woman.

It was my female counterpart that didnt want to make a commitment.I was ready she wasnt.Unfortunately for me i am single again.

Because we actually understand what it involves. I've met women who are big on the word, "commitment" but little on delivering their part of the bargain. "Oh if we have any problems then we'll just get a divorce ..." Marry in haste, repent at leisure ...

Some just as women are immature twats. :) But quite a few are willing to commit. My s/o calls my daughter who is not his the circumstances of her conception were less then happy. He helped me throughout the pregnancy and as far as he's concerned the baby and I are #1 in his life. :) I do try and get him to spend more time with his friends though.

Why does anyone have commitment issues? Its not just the guys! I've never met a guy with really bad commitment issues :) In fact the person I know with the worst commitment issues is in fact a girl but its due to a very BAD relationship with her dad I think. So in my opinion I think its just down to individual experience.
