  • Hmmm... I'd probably give it about 2 months. It would take about that long for me to become familiar with a new place, get used to living with the person, and decide if I had made a huge mistake (kidding).
  • first off, i wouldn't move unless i was going to marry that person...is that your case? if not, i don't know. but if you moved and you're getting married or you're in a super serious relationship, just think about how happy you are with that person. and how great it is to be so much closer to them.
  • I have done a lot of interstate moves, the longest being from the West Coast to the East Coast, the shortest being from Ohio to Michigan. It depends upon the move and the situation. I still miss California and always shall. Whatever State I have lived in has not mattered other than it is not California. As far as loneliness, I did not leave anyone behind that I really cared for in California and have not had trouble in that area other places. I settle in pretty quick. I just, really, left my heart in San Francisco. I know, it is cliche, but it is true. :P
  • A would give it a few months, to get into a new routine, get a new jobs, start meeting people, get to know the area.
  • six months to a year. Roots grow slowly.
  • 15 Minutes and i'd be outta there. I get those feelings ya know.
  • I have read that it takes 21 days to get used to a new job, new apartment, new school, new town. But if you are moving a long way from home and family and friends you might not get over homesickness for a long time. It depends on how much effort you make toward making the new place "home". If you sit at home and mope all day and don't try to meet new people, it will take a very very long time to adjust. But if you make up your mind to explore your new town and meet new people, you might adjust very quickly! :)
  • I moved from canada to california. I found that there is no way to get rid of homeeickness. The best way to cope with it is surround yourself with common things. For example, I purchase a lot of canadian products online that I can't buy in the USA.
