Stem cells come from two sources: human embryos and human non-embryos. Stem cell research from human non-embryos (or adult) is not controversial and has yielded many real cures diseases that has helped many people.(http://www.stemcellresearch.org/facts/treatments.htm) Stem cell research from human embryos has yield no cures. It is controversial because it destroys another human being with unique DNA. It kills an unborn human being. In fact, embryonic stem cell research is really nothing short of human experimentation. It is no better than the same affront to human dignity inflicted by the Nazi in WWII with their human experimentation programs carried out in the name of science by Dr. Josef Mengele.

stem cells can arise in different placse in the human body,,some in the umbilical cord, which can differenciate into any cell type,,and ohter may arise in the bone marrow and these cells are pluripotent, meaning that they can differentiate into some cells type,,according into how you stimulate them ,,thats why they are controversial,,because now a days they can stimulate them to grow new organs for disabled people,,such as new arm, heart, kidny and may different organs..
