What does the rank number in your profile mean?

It is the order in which you are making progress in AB. The lower your rank, the more you have contributed and been pointed.

Its your ranking out of everyone on answerbag regarding your point total. example you are ranked 320. there are 319 people on AB with more points than you. Click on the number and you'll see a list.

It is the ranking of the user in the "all time most points leaderboard". If you click on the ranking, you open that list at the page where the user is ranked. Your ranking doesn't just depend on the amount of your points, but also on the amount of points of the other users. If you are not among the top 1000, "Rank >1000" will be displayed. The "all time most points leaderboard" ist the most important one. When you get on this page, you can see on the link a list of the other leaderboards. Two of those leaderboards concern questions, not users. For each Leaderboard, you can use the button inside the blue bar to toggle between the "all time" and the "last week" version.
