    Fences, buried a few inches below ground as well as a a couple of feet above ground are the best way to keep rabbits out. I used to make portable low wire cages, about 4'X8' surrounded by poultry netting, some even with tops and would move them to certain plants the rabbits and other critters wanted to eat.

    Having a cat in the garden often works, better than dogs. There are a few products that are supposed to repel rabbits but they don't work very well for long and are very expensive plus need to be reapplied after any moisture or rain. Some people have tried black pepper, cayenne and bone meal sprinkled around their favorite foods. It might make them pick other things to eat, but it might not. Repellents should be applied at twilight since rabbits prefer to eat after dark.
