What empire? The American list of 20th century acquisitions that weren't given their independence is so tiny, that it makes Portugal look like a major power. But, that said, manifest destiny has gone the way of the horse and buggy. And capitalist colonialism is a load of crap. I've never heard the term before and can dismiss it as a pathetic attempt to lump together two terms in a effort to make it sound twice as bad. Colonialism is largely a thing of the past, with the possible exception of China. World capitalism leads to an improvement in the lives of people who have the political stability to allow for the improvement. With any luck, they will avoid the plagues of drought, famine, political instability, sociologists, and political scientists.

Absolutely! The more the merrier! Why stop at having military basis in nearly all the countries in the world? Let's invade some more countries, preferably those that have oil or other natural resources that we can pillage and pilfer. Oh, also, we should do it in the name of the Christian god too, just like we did Iraq since that has gone so well, why not repeat it?

Many of the countries with large reservoirs of natural resources do not have public education systems and their people are relatively uneducated. The problem with that is that they are not aware of what our interests in them are. They are newly independent and free, they see us as a model of what freedom brings and allow for us to introduce these corporations into there world, which just makes the businesses bigger. There influence becomes greater and our influence becomes more far reaching in a direct monetary sense, the concept is we place businesses US businesses in foreign lands so those lands become dependent on our industries in their countries, this causes their country to improve economically, but it also creates a dependence on the US dollar, because their economy would be fueled by our private corporations which are standing on the American Dollar as their primary monetary backing. It's quite clever and has already begun to take shape, just take a look at what the free market economy has done to the concept of what communism is in China.
