  • My girls threw me a surprise birthday party, a week before it was due, this is why such a surprise, and had all my family, and friends there, and baked the cake for me themselves!! It was priceless! They were only 8 and 10, at the time.
  • Our son is only two, but the sweet things he has done for me already are countless. The one that I will always remember; He was in the bath and he is very into bubbles, he pointed to his bottle of bubble bath and said "Mommy's bubbles", I replied "No, mommy doesn't have any bubbles." So he said "Awe, mommy I share wif you." I almost cryed!
  • My 11-year-old protege' (I don't have a kid of my own.) did a misdeed that I didn't know about. So, he apologized to the person he wronged and to me, then I got a big hug. It was really from his heart.
  • When my daughter (now 2) said Daddy for the first time. It was very special.
  • When my son was rising two, the only way I could get hum to sleep was walking up and down the bedroom carrying him with his head on my shoulder. One night, just as he was falling asleep, he suddenly patted my back and whispered "Best Friend"
  • For Christmas I gave my grandson age 12 the xbox 360 game system. Although I knew nothing about how to play the game he insisted that I play with him. His friend always would get mad if he shot him many times. It is a war game. But as bad as I played I never got angry. He layed his controller down came over hugged me and said, "Papa, you are a good sport" then kissed me on the cheek. He always tells me that I am the coolest grand papa ever. What a kid. We play together, wrestle together and fish together.
  • He's an adult now, but last Mother's Day he invited me to spend the weekend with him and my daughter-in-law on the East Coast. They treated me like a queen ... it was the best gift they could have given me.
