I couldn't be offended! I'm a major space cadet and often find myself off in my own little world. It gets so bad sometimes a nuclear bomb couldn't get my attention!

If you mean snapping his fingers to get my attention ... I would be offended. He could and should be more polite ... unless it were a dire emergency, or a matter of life or death.
