Yeah I've seen it. It really made me think, but I think it might be exaggerated a lot
-
I have seen the movie trailer, it seems very interesting.
-
I havn't seen it but I guarentee that things are not nearly as bad as in that film. You need to get a grip, I assure you the polar ice caps will still be there in 5 years.
-
Possibly yes, possibly no. Have you heard of HAARP?
-
Fact based? No, I have not, but these comments make me want to check it out.

It has had a major impact around the world. We have been 'coasting' for years and not getting serious about making necessary changes. Al Gore has brought the issue to the world media and now everyone is listening and governments are FINALLY committed to taking positive action - even if it is only for vote catching purposes!
-
Thank you, points for your question. I thought that this documentary was an eye opener. There were a few things that I didn't know. Things would have been different if Al Gore had been elected as president- for one he would have rattified the Kyoto protocol.

All it does is overhype the threat of global warming and give half truths. What happened to the hurricanes that where suppose to beat the hell out of us this year? Oh and its my understanding there is a scene in there with a polar bear looking around like its stuck on a broke off piece of ice. Problem is polar bears swim very well. Oh and he neglects to mention that in the '70's we where talking about global cooling. Its a political play for the most part keeping Gore in the spotlight. And in my opinion overhyping the problem and giving half truths just makes him and the global warming crowd look bad.

It is full of conjecture misreresentations and untruths. Not all of but a lot, Al Gore is using it as a political football and people who don't know the real truth. that being that it is not as bad as they are making it out to be. Top scientists are being ignored because it is not the popular viewpoint and would be political suicide, a shame realy.

There have been a number of sources that have written very good rebuttals of Gores movie. http://www.canadafreepress.com/2006/harris061206.htm http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/ http://www.ncpa.org/pub/st/st285/ http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=YmFiZDAyMWFhMGIxNTgwNGIyMjVkZjQ4OGFiZjFlNjc= Add to this the evidence of just how serious Al Gore really takes global warming. It has been revealed that Gore prefers to travel by private jet rather than on the commercial carriers. Thus, in one cross country flight, he puts more CO2 in the air than your average SUV driver does in a year. So, if Al isn't going to take it seriously, then why should I. *********** Addendum British Court finds that "An Inconvenient Truth" is not entirely truthful (http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/corporate_law/article2633838.ece).

Academy Awards are now qualifiers for a presidential bid. Al Gore is after the big prize, now! It is a wonderful horror movie, worthy of an Academy Award. Reminds me of Orson Welles broadcast of "WAR of the WORLDS." and the resultant hysteria. GW may be real, but misinformation undermines serious research. Face it, Al Gore had a nervous breakdown and crisis of confidence after losing his presidential bid to an "inferior" candidate. This is his way of reasserting his importance in the world and taking a swipe at Bush simultaneously. I hope he feels better.

I just got an e-mail from Netflix telling me that I should get it by Thursday....will keep you informed.

# http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/117207 # http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/125740 There are a range of documentaries out there that talk about climate change that can do the job. I think that "An Inconvenient Truth" is simply a political block-buster.

This question has been beat to death on AB. Some adore it. Some think about it. Some think it is a platform for Al Gore to perform. Some see it for what it is.
-
Al Gore has reduced himself to a Michael Moore level. Who honestly gets their information form such a one sided movie. His movie wasn't an honest look at the subject. The movie plain and simple was created to sell popcorn You can make anything look worse than it is
-
I completely agree with you - People need to wake up. Saying things like "If America didn't sign the Kyoto Protocol and they don't think it is a big problem then why should I worry about my CO2 emissions?" is just being stupid. I don't mean to offend anyone but if you don't know the full truth about something then please keep your opinions to yourself. Anyone who thinks that Global Warming is not real is just being dumb because it has been scientifically proved. As for Al Gore traveling by private jet, well he is just rich and old and so doesn't think that global warming is going to affect him. At least he is giving lectures about global warming to make people more aware about it. It's certainly more than anyone else is doing.

patronizing bullshit.

You need PROZAC. Start with 40mg dose to control your panic attacks provoked by the global warming hoax. My 2 cents.
