  • nail polish remover
  • Did you try Windex or Nail Polish remover.
  • Try vinegar and a slightly abrasive cloth
  • I have 2 cleaners that I use with good results. WD40 is an excellent way to remove adhesive residue. The other is Naphtha. Sold in small amounts as lighter fluid, or in large quantities at your local hardware store. It is one of the most effective cleaners for this type of thing I have ever found. Edit: Strange how my answer was rated down at the same time as all others were rated up, and all ratings coincided with my comment to an illiterate. Though a coward has seen fit to berate my answer let me assure you, as a luthier (look that one up troll), I have used both wd-40 and naphtha to remove stickers from very expensive guitars with no damage to the finish. Nail polish remover (acetone) could have disastrous results if applied to the wrong material. Please don't be mislead by spurious bad ratings.
  • I'VE HAD GOOD RESULTS USING LIGHTER FLUID OR RUBBING ALCOHOL.
  • WD40 is the way to go to remove stickiness and ducttape is what you use to make things stick
  • Nail polish remover works well, although it's VERY harsh on certain surfaces. Try rubbing alcohol - I use it at work all the time to get tape marks off of my patients' skin.
  • 1. WD-40 2. ELECRO-CLEANER : but is a bit more expensive than WD 40 3. Nail polish remover 4. medical spirit 5. gas or kerosene ; however these tend to leave smell behind
  • Use Acetone.
  • I scrape with my fingernails but nail polish remover as someone said does work.
  • Eucalyptus Oil.
  • elbow grease. also can be used to make tasty fries. and some people get a little testy. Being a pumpkin I am not bothered by this. Smart assed answers should be taken as that and nothing else. Getting your panties in a knot gets you nowhere and you still have naughty underwear. Darryl61 if I offended you I am sorry but I won't take away points and as a matter of fact I am sending you a big load via Fedex overnight. Darryl61 be safe and take care. If you are good I'll make a pie out of my sister and send it to you.

  • I don't know why no one else said Goo Gone. It's the best stuff I've ever used for this purpose, and it works on so many things! I believe the active ingredient is something like orange oil, or citrus oil of some kind. Also, I've never had it damage any surface. <Edit> Thought I'd post the manufacturer's website here, in case you might want to try some! http://www.magicamerican.com/googone.shtml
