The US has already responded, in fact it had before the incident. The ship was in a protected corridor. Some day soon the pirates will be taken care of.

There is a UN peacekeeping force out there in Somali. They have a navy too to protect ships from the pirates. The US will do well to augment the peacekeeping nations' navies with more ships of its own to prevent all pirate activity in those waters.

I can't answer this question Ed, but I want to say that all pirates like those should be killed! This is the 21 century and we Americans shall have 0 tolerance of pirates!
