  • I know I could retire early but I love my job. I think as long as I am still useful I will continue.
  • I'd like to continue in my current career. Retirement was something I thought I could achieve in the not too distant future until January of this year when my job was outsourced. I'm lucky to be working for the company that is performing the outsourcing, but their retirement plans are very different and with the economic problems, an early retirement doesn't look too promising. I'll also be lucky to have a job one year from now, nobody knows for sure.
  • I would really love to find a career that I was passionate about but I can't move and there isn't anything nearby. So retirement is looking pretty good to me. Maybe then I can do part time work that I love and not worry about if it pays enough to feed the cats.
  • I would like to develop other interests & passions that will fill the gap when I choose to retire. I know several retirees who have gotten involved in volunteering ( 30+ hrs p/wk at a children's hospital), political causes (running for local office), teaching ( senior aqua aerobics at the YMCA)and I think they get the most benefit from it, keeps them sharp. I fear that I will turn into a fat, isolated, boring couch potato when I retire if I don't....
  • I would love to find something I'm passionate about, I did have a job like that at one time, but it evolved into something I am not interested in at all, it's just a job. I keep it to pay the bills and keep a roof over my head. If I were old enough and financially secure enough to retire, I would probably still work, but would choose something I love to do.
  • Honestly, I just want to retire as early as possible. My life has been nothing but study and work, study and work. Sigh.
  • At this time in my life, I'm REALLY looking forward to just retiring in hopefully 7 to 10 years. Take time to smell the roses while I'm still healthy and have my wits about me. Tell us about you?
  • I'm currently bouncing back and forth between two career ideas. I am passionate about and would be happy doing both of them...but one has a special meaning to me and the other would be much better money (which can = earlier retirement)....I just can't decide!
  • I plan to be a professor when I retire I want to teach what I have learned through my years of work (still many years to go though)
  • I'm looking for something that I'm passionate about, and something easy that is not too time consuming. I'm also looking to retire young.
  • I would love to retire but I would have to go live in my car if I did.
  • I haven't even thought about retirement besides putting away extra money each month and saving it all up. I am striving to do photography and writing since those are my passions. I'm sure photojournalists don't retire early haha.
