A draughtsman is a person who is an expert in drawing diagrams on sketch paper for the purpose of taking blue prints by ammonia method. Before the computers became popular all firms and offices who had the need to prepare sketches, diagrams and graphs engaged a qualified draughtsman for this work. They used to pin the sketch paper to the drafting board using pins and use a T for tracking a straight line on the paper. They used the usual geometrical instruments and black ink for the purpose of drawing. The instruments used to be somewhat larger than the ones in a student's geometry box. Now with the computers doing all the work of the draughtsman I doubt not even architects use the services of a draughtsman for drawing buildig plans. That is one profession off the list.

Well, a draftsman usually works for an architect and prepares working drawings based on designs of the architect. Then there is draft beer... or a cold draft that makes you put on a sweater..Did you have any of those in mind? :) ((hugs))

A draughtsman or draftsman (the former more often in the UK, the latter more often in the US), also known as a draughtsperson or draftsperson is a person skilled in drawing, either: drawing for artistic purposes, or technical drawing for practical purposes such as architecture or engineering. A draftsman, spelt the same way in both British and American English, is also an individual who drafts (i.e. draws up) documents, especially for official purposes.
