And a few others I missed I am sure.
  • As well mentioned before by others, many countries in Africa account for those that speak French. Apparently, the majority of French-speaking people worlwide reside there. However, I believe it's only somewhere between 20-25 countries on that continent that French is the actual official language, whereas a few remaining countries there speak French as a second language. Also, concerning the Caribbean, in addition to those acknowledged previously, you have Martinique, Guadeloupe, French St. Martin, Marie-Galante, La Désirade, Les Saintes and Saint-Barthélemy, plus some parts of Dominica(who happen to also speak Dutch as well as a creole language of a sort in certain areas, I found that interesting myself when I visited), St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Thomas. Also, I have met people from Cambodia who say they speak French there. Plus, I remember hearing that there a few other places in Asia where French is spoken. Clearly, the obvious are France, some parts of Canada & a couple places in Europe, which you already know, so I won't bore you with too much repetition.:)Well, happy traveling or researching or whatever you need info for! :)
