Is it true that men are more interested in women who are sexy and hot versus women who are intelligent and can take care of themselves.

I think that is an argument that is more "short term vs. long term". Sexy and hot only lasts for so long as people age and/or change. Intellect and ability lasts. Speaking for myself, I'd take smart and capable over sexy and dependent. Sexy is a state of mind and attitude. Some of the sexiest women I've known use their brains to turn up the heat.

What makes you think the two are mutually exclusive? I think that the ideal woman for most men would be one who was sexy and hot AND intelligent and able to take care of herself. In fact I know a lot of men who think intelligence and self-sufficiency are a major part of sexiness. This is why Lauren Bacall was so sensationally hot in "To Have and Have Not". This is why Emma Peel from the Avengers, who could definetly handle herself and didn't need a man to protect her, was the number 1 male fantasy for a generation. This is why, although there are many men who find Paris Hilton passively attractive and probably wouldn't say no, not that many find her truly irrisistably sexy (Do a quick poll- I'm right aren't I?). Intelligent women ARE sexy. I don't think many guys will argue with that.

We (at least I) want both. One without the other gets stale and boring real quick, and we (at least I) lose interest.

Rubbish, most people like women who are mature, polite kind etc, intelligence is just a bonus, most women are intelligent Enoch anway, women who make themselves sexy at home is fine, but in public is offensive to society and most good men do not prefer that.
