There's a sense of community in AB? Wow! I missed that turn
-

-
Good Conversations,Great Questions and Answers,,,,;) And Those Comments are Awesome;)
-
Great folks that are here..the questions and answers are good to though..:)
-
I like the answer and some ask but I would like to have friendship also. I have a very little and it makes the names more real.
-
Community is important to me.
-
you know, questions, answers and comments... its like a conversation... i like it.. i do see a few question that strictly aim for answers, but many questions (such as mine.., or maybe not) actually creates conversations..
-
The sense of community is what sets Answerbag apart from other Q & A sites. I probably would have left a long time ago if it weren't for that;)
-
I'm here more for the sense of community than to answer questions. I'm here to answer questions, too; but, I think I would be gone by now without the sense of community and the friends I've made here.
-
I love the Q+A but I am so very grateful for the folks I've met through AB.

I'd like to echo some of the responses already posted here...originally I came here solely for the concept, and didn't think I would make many friends, in fact I didn't see the sense of community at first. It took a little while before people on here really started talking to me other than the necessary concept fanfare, one of the first being Chris, and Andy. I think I would have been bored a long time ago if I didn't see and partake in the community aspect though. It has its up and downs though, some people are extremely hateful and crude, but I can't say that I have not been either, on occasions. But those bad things are also part of any kinda community, and maybe we can't fix much of it, but we do learn, and that's one thing I enjoy, and unless I'm jinxing myself right now, I have some very good friends and acquaintances on here, that it makes Answerbag feel a lot more fun than most sites of this nature. Of course, the community aspect I think totally overshadows the original intent of this site, but I also strongly enjoy answering questions, that won't change either, so either way, it's totally fine.

I participate in a fair share of Q+A to contribute to the site, but I really enjoy the sense of community and friendships that develop.

Let's put it this way: I landed here because it was one of many listings in a google search I'd run. I signed up just because the notion of a Q&A site looked good and I wanted to look around the place. Who the heck even knew there "was" as social aspect to it? And when that was figured out .. then had to learn how to meet folks other than random drive-bys with folks never to be seen again! I thought it was .. well .. "answer-bag" .. a cute name for an encyclopedia type site .. maybe a bit more modern by framing it in realtime, user-generated Q&A. You know .. facts, ma'am .. just the facts. I've been on genealogy mailing lists where it's ok to talk a bit about "your kin" or research or what project you want to make of what family tree info you find .. and I've found others where you provide names, dates, events, localities .... what you want to know .. where you've already looked .. and THAT'S IT. You'll get chewed up and eaten for breakfast if you get "chatty". Of course too far the other way and people go away in droves too, because you can't find "the meat" amidst all the fluff. So I learned there was a wide range of content here - a wide range of styles - a mix of informational with entertainment or opinion or help/support - and that often "the meat" both in terms of getting to know folks AND often information too - is in the comments that come from an answer given or received. WOW I don't want pure Q&A - no community (that's topic specific online boards or mailing lists or other Q&A sites) I don't want community - no Q&A (that's Facebook or MySpace) I love this blend of the best of both worlds .. I love being a part of this community. :)

I joined to ask questions and seek answers. I got addicted because of the community here.
-
I think the sense of community on AB is what keeps me around. Without it, frankly, it wouldn't be very good.
-
I very much like the sense of community here, it's what makes this place so special. For the most part everyone here is great and I enjoy their company, questions and comments. There are a few morons here too, but them I try to ignore.

I'm all business. All the time. I don't: "Play" on the computer Flirt with the girls Give silly answers Give obscene answers Give silly/obscene answers Fuck with people Act sarcastic Touch myself while ABing Have my gf touch me while ABing Watch my gf touch herself while ABing ...I get on here and I I get down to business. There's a lot of people who need my help- Pronto Tonto! And I give it to 'em. I give it to 'em good. - Eric, OUT!!!
-
I return for the Community, to see how my friends are doing. I go away every now and again but I come back for the people not the Q and As.
-
personally i like the sense of community!
-
When I first came I thought this whole community thing was really corny, and I felt bad for people who enjoyed it lol but then I really started liking it, I don't know why, but it's really nice :) What about you?
-
I'm here to learn, share what I know and meet people, some of whom become my friends. I am not attracted to questions that have one right answer..nor anything that can be looked up and found in a book. I like open-ended questions..questions that require a certain amount of imagination. So I'm not here to ask and answer questions..I am here to find out what other people think about things and to let them know what I think and together in this exchange perhaps we can come up with conclusions that are mutually acceptable! :)
-
It's really a combination of both!:)
