Pfft its not just math teachers, I had a history teach who didn't know any thing out side of what was in his history book in highschool and had to look up the answers to make sure that we where right.

unfortunately it is true....especially with untrained teaches or people that do not have a teaching degree. Where I live, it is so difficult to keep the teachers (job too demanding, kids are pests, etc) that just having an adult with a bachelors (any bachelors) is sometimes an vent in itself.... however, I know some very, very good teachers that are er well learned in their material....it's a lucky draw at to what/whom you're going to get...
