  • Is it normal for adult teeth to move? No, permanent teeth are not supposed to move. Loose teeth may be caused by injury, infection, teeth grinding and even orthodontic treatment (braces). The most common cause of loose teeth in adults is loss of supporting bone from “periodontal disease,” which begins as gingivitis or inflammation of the gums. It’s important that you see a dentist to determine what’s causing this problem and obtain treatment to prevent tooth loss. General advice for teenagers to maintain good oral health includes the use of mouth guards in contact sports, tooth brushing after meals, and daily use of dental floss to prevent gum disease. Fluoride in both drinking water and toothpaste helps to strengthen teeth by reducing dental decay, especially in children. http://www.teengrowth.com/index.cfm?action=info_advice&ID_Advice=33704&category=body&catdesc=Body&subdesc=Teeth
  • I have this problem too. Mine have for the past three years and I have no idea why and it's starting to really worry me. I've been to two dentists about it and each one tells me they don't think there's a problem/they don't notice it themselves. And that I have healthy teeth/gums... so I really have no idea what's causing it, but it's really starting to scare me. And I hate going back to the dentist about it because he probably thinks I'm nuts for bringing it up in the first place to him and he found nothing. I'm so scared I'm going to loose my teeth.
