  • i don't think so, i could be wrong though
  • I never get my blood taken as part of a physical UNLESS I am getting tested for diabetis or cholesterol or something. It's not standard here to do that and insurance anymore throws a fit about paying for those "unnecessary" things. each MD is different
  • Usually they take blood out of my arm. If your afraid dont watch...nothing to it really
  • No, they usually simply do and vein stick in you arm and draw about 3 vials of blood. But they don't prick your finger, so don't you finger your prick.
  • The Dr. sends me to the lab where a couple of small vials of blood are drawn. They can tell you a lot from that blood, from cholesterol to liver function and a dozen other things.
  • Draw blood? Yes. And as much as I do NOT like needles, I like even less what the doctor does with his finger, now that I'm older. A LOT less.
  • I haven't had blood checked with a fingerstick since I was a kid. All of the doctors I go to order lab tests that involve blood being taken from the arm. Some of them do the blood draws right in their office, which I like. Others make you go offsite to a contracting lab. That's a pain in the neck.
  • It depends on what they're testing for
  • The nurse draws my blood at least a week before my physical so it can be tested before the doctor physically examines me.
  • Since I'm a diabetic, they do that everytime I make a doctors visit.
  • the doc sends me to another location for blood work.
  • I have just returned from having blood work and since they ccan never find my viens I am covered in cotton wool patches. My blood tests are just one part of a full physical.
  • hello, not my doctor,,he takes my blood from a vein in my forearm.
  • They take blood from the arm. Actually in the past from my hand. Okay, I'm probably one a few that can stand having the hand done. And yes I hate it. Anyway, sometimes testing blood in small quantities doesn't afford the use of the arm. Sometimes the finger is pricked to get a drop or two of blood.
