  • It is the main church - presbyterian I suppose - Protestant. Most Scots are protestant due to historical factors... ie that was the original predominant denomination, and lethargy! Most catholics in Scotland are descended from immigrant populations, mainly irish. Most unfortunately for everyone in Scotland, there is a very live issue regarding this, with frequent sectarian clashes mainly centred around football.. although the VAST majority of those involved have NO CLUE about the theological differences between protestant and catholic ... and indeed most have no christian belief at all. Makes me sad and less than proud to be Scottish.
