  • Oven 325 degrees, approx. 20 min. per pound. So a 20s lb. bird would get 400 minutes, or 6 1/2 hours. It's a good idea to use a meat thermometer, but even easier is to buy one of those little pop-up plastic thingees that you can get at the grocery store. Just plug it into the thickest part of the breast. You should baste the turkey every 1/2 hour or so, and, if it's getting too brown, make a little tent out of aluminum foil and place it over the turkey until it's done. Have fun.
