Yes, I believe so, but I don't blame the media for that. Humans have been hooked on sex since time immemorial, long before Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. It's human nature.

Yeah, and Yeah because its what sells, and its what we are buying

Society is made of individuals. Culture evolved out of practices. The obsession with sex is basic to human nature. Infact modern psychology is based on the assumption that sex is the primary motivating force behind all human action. It is only that our society is more open than ever before. So sex gets discussed more frequently and openly and gets wider coverage in the media. The 'hooked on sex' syndrome is an old one. Only now it has got its rightful place in our culture and society. The Media has helped in promoting open discussion on sex. Thats because there is a lot of interest on the topic. We shouldn't blame the media in this case.

Humans are hooked on sex, because that's how we continue our species. It is biology more than anything.

I think sex has been demonized for too long. People have been too afraid to talk about it, be open about it, and therefore have been less educated about it. I like that sex is becoming more of an open part of our society.
-
I do think that our society is more open on sex. If people get hooked on sex, I think it is fair to blame the media. With today's media, sex has become so commercially exploited, that it attracts the eye or ear of most of the public.

People are obsessed by many things. Sex is one of them. Some people are hooked on cigarettes, some on drugs, some on alcohol, some on shopping, some on plastic surgery, some on one-upmanship, some on "winning", some on gambling..you pays your money you makes your choice and no, the media isn't responsible..the person who makes the choice is to blame, at fault, accountable, responsible and guilty! :)

the media = suggestive thinking to influence how we behave. though it is human nature its also a manipulated part of our consciousness because every company that uses sex in its ads is taking advantage of it/us.
-
Our culture/society is not hooked on it but it's definetely hooked on the idea of it. I'm yet to go to bed with one person in this society that can live up to what they claim. Americans suck in bed and that's no pawn because most of them don't even know how do even that!
