My dad used to make those (well, he still does!), and I do have a fondness for them. My husband gets excited the one or two times a year I crave them. :)

When the sandwich itself is fried, yes. If it is a sandwich served with fried balogna, no.

Yes, I haven't had one for many years. There are and have been other foods I had as a child, like liverwurst, that I would just love to have again but they are now supposed to be bad for you. Sometimes I get them again and find I don't even like them anymore. But, I sure would like to try the fired bologna again.
