  • It would be nice if everyone took that responsibility but I think the reality is not always quite so idealistic. I know many families who care so dearly about their adopted children and take every care to make sure they provide them with the best that they can. However, there are those who, when the adopted children reach 18, feel their responsibility is over and the adopted children are left in a void.
  • you raise an interesting question, however you adopted a child to be part of your family, to be as one. your or anyones responsibility is to raise all children equally, love each eqaully, and no that you may not have born the child, but the child is yours in heart and soul. for whatever reason the natural family gave up the child, they can only hope and dream and feel their child is being protected and loved by you.
  • I have three adopted children ( from my ex-wife's first marriage ), and two biological children. When they were growing up, we treated them all as equally as possible and insisted that they all be kind to one another. They are all grown now, and still care very deeply about each other. It's all about realizing that no child ASKED to be here, and that, like it or not, we're all in this together. : )
