Both. Sometimes at the same time.
-
Depends on what's on, if it's a good obscure movie like maybe "Slacker" or "Repo Man" I'll put down my book and watch, but for a TV show, I'll gladly just turn it off and read my book.
-
I like both, usually a book is more appealing when their isn't much except re-runs on TV.
-
Read a book. My TV watching is down to about 1-2 hours per week, and I wouldn't miss those if the TV broke. But books I could not live without.
-
Read a book without a doubt. I hardly ever watch TV, it either gets me annoyed or bores me stupid. There are one or two things I like to watch, and then I might make the effort, but usually I prefer to read.
-
Read a good book .. I can get lost in a book
-
TV if I have had a hard day and my eyes/brain dont want to work properly by reading.. otherwise a good book always wins
-
read a book, have you read needful things by stephen king? great book. TV has been proven to make people blind. not saying that i dont watch it at all but not very much.
-
I prefer to read a book.
-
TV works better with my having a 2 year old. I can step away from a paused TV and come back with out feeling I've missed something; but breaking the flow/tone of a good book can be frustrating.
-
I enjoy reading a book much more. When I read a book, I learn from it and remember what I read. When I watch TV, the information often just passes through my mind, and I often don't retain it. This mostly happens with entertainment TV rather than educational programs. Though I still feel that educating oneself through reading books definitely is the preferred method to retaining the material.
-
If those were my choices alone, I would prefer a good novel to tv. Tv would have to be better then it is now for me to choose it.
-
Television with Captions! or Mad Mag.
-
much rather read a book.
-
tv...never read a book all the way through...except for dr. seuss...lol i dont trust books except the Good Book
-
I would like to read another good book if I could find one, but I usually end up on the boob tube. I tried to read the bible, but I keep getting really tired when I do. (the good book). Ya, lets see you vote against the bible pal! I will turn u from a troll stalker Into a hell stalker. JK! At least I'm honest.
-
I alway prefer books. But Sometimes am still tempted in.
-
I prefer to read a book. When I go to the local gym - they have 6 stations going on different stations - with closed captioning. Even then there really isn't enough information so as to not wonder off. If they even tried - then I could get into TV.
-
Television, unless the book is a comic book.
-
Read a book. Especially if it is my favorite auther and he/she has a brand new one out.
-
Books, but it sometimes depends what's on TV.
-
Rather read a book or draw something really cool like animals forging for food at early dusk.
-
i wouls much rather watch tv,its hard for me to sit still and read a book for a long period of time.
-
Read a book, any day. I have four books going right now. The one that I just started has 600 pages (whoops). Must finish one of them. When I head out of work tonight, I am stopping by this cool used bookshop to buy a friend a gift (Ben Hur). I will promise not to get anything for myself!
-
Read a book by far... Well, except for "the english patient". With that book, I'd prefer to be punctured in the eyes with a hot needle......
-
Read...every time.
-
Watch tv. I can still do this along with another activity, whereas I need more quiet time to read.
-
Read a book- I don't have cable.
-
Normally I would rather watch TV, but I usually READ A BOOK in bed before I go to sleep. P.S. Why is READ A BOOK in all caps?
-
err..both depends on how i'm feeling if i'm feeling angry book and happy t.v. lol.
-
It depends on what is on tv and what book I have. If there is something good on tv I would prefer to watch tv, but if I am reading a really good book I would prefer to read. If there is nothing good on tv and I don't have a good book I would probably choose the television over reading.
-
it would depend on how tired i am
-
I prefer a good book, but when I can't devote my full attention, I go for the TV.
-
read
-
I'm definitely more of a reader than a TV watcher so I'd have to pick readin a book.
-
depends whats on the TV, if there ain't nothing on the tv then a book, but if there is soming i wanna watch on the tv then i watch the tv
-
read a book it gets your imagination going and it's much more fun than watching tv
-
read a book and then watch the movie, it makes the book all the much better.
-
Read, read, read - a show is great but over too fast or you have to wait until next week to see more. I can whip through a book in a day but I don't feel let down when I'm done.
-
Depends entirely on the book and also what is on TV.
-
Read.
-
Read. I LOVE to read.
-
Read a book. Unless my favorite shows are on.
-
Books develop your brain... personally I like TV better but reading is good for you. And books are cheaper.
-
Watch T.V.
-
depends on the book and what type of tv generally i'd rather read
-
It depends. Sometimes T.V sometimes a book. The worst thing is when you want to do both at the same time :|
-
Read a book - there is something wonderfully enriching and calming about reading a book - you never miss anything because you can read at your own pace, and you are doing it for yourself, instead of having it spoon-fed to you. Plus, the details are so much better when every single thing is explained, people's tone and how they looked at each other and what they were thinking. You don't usually get people's inner thoughts on TV. Book please!
-
If I wasn't such a slow reader, I would love books. Sadly, TV has ruled my little world.
-
Read a book. But there are a few TV shows that I like to watch, and I read in the commerical breaks...
-
I don't know... Archie comics, Archie shows, ????? I don't know. T.V if Archie comics don't count. If Archie comics counts... I don't know. There's a lot of Archie shows.
-
Read a book. Because unlike TV, you get to imaging the appearance of the characters and places with only a small description.
-
Read! I love to read and have the tv on in the back ground or music playing really soft.
-
T.V. sometimes book
-
Probably watch TV. Since I am usually bagging, it doesn't take too much concentration to watch the boob tube. I also have to be in the mood to read, and a good book calling my name.
-
hard question as I love both books and TV. Depends on what I am reading. . . if it is dense, I need TV to balance out my brain!
-
A book. A book as far way more detailed than a movie or a book. You enrich your mind reading a good book, but watching the discovery channel also helps. Reading stimulates your brain and makes you sharp and smart.
-
Book of course. My immagination is quite literally much more vivid than any movie or tv show could be- and I say that in the least cliche way possible. I simply mean to say, that when I read a book then watch a movie I'm always dissapointed. Some things don't look as I immagined, and then my ideas are murdered and I can't think about the characters anymore without picturing the actors. Even when it's not a book/movie thing, I always find myself thinking about what I would have made different and how the scene could have been improved. in my head I can immagine it to be however I want it to be.
-
TV most of the time, book once in a while.
-
i gave up watching t.v. back in 1982,i love reading but for some reason answerbag has been keeping me from doing very much reading lately.
-
Read a book! I rarely ever watch tv. Good question.
-
Reading a book
-
Reading a book, always! It opens up your imagination!
-
watching tv
-
My preference is books over TV. Books help me think for myself and encourage me to use my own imagination instead of being fed pictures off a TV screen. (I'm not counting books that are written in second person that tell you what to think).
-
definitely reading a good book - u can loose urself in it and be part of the story. tv, u just sit and watch, maybe sympathise, maybe look forward to the next episode, but u cant be that person!
-
a good book def!!!!
-
Books just honestly suck me in like no TV show can. I like the occasional sitcom, but a good book just blows away anything onscreen.
-
Books; they have much more detail. If an actor/actress is ugly, but his/her character is hot you can't do anything about it, but in books you can imagine them hot. Same thing for sets and everything!
-
TV more than comic books because you dont have to turn the pages and the ads are funnier.
-
Books let your imagination run wild, you can become so involved with a story that you're almost living in the world that the author has created. Most tv nowadays is mindless and superficial.
-
books. i like imagining the story in my mind, how i want it.
-
The more absorbing something is, the more enjoyable it is, and, books can get very, very absorbing. TV is limited in that regard. So, easy choice: Books.
-
I love books. I read every night :) It's relaxing and when I get a good one I find myself not wanting to go to sleep wanting to know what happens next!!
-
Most definitely books. I personally, especially like novels, though.
-
I am an avid reader ...always have been but I suppose thats because of the era I grew up in were books were #1...so books are great for me
-
Books...there is no use of imagination in TV
-
Books. I have a very good imagination.
-
BOOKS!! they're easier to color than the tv screen (and i dont get in trouble)
-
Books. Tv gives you everything; image, story etc. Books give you the story, but you have to use your imagination to make it come alive. Tome, reading a book feels more like watching the events than watching the events on a screem.
-
Books. TV is just a lot of unnecessary noise and has very little meaning to me.
-
It depends on what it is, I do not want the story of the football game in book form, but for overall depth of a story a book is better than tv or a movie for the most part.
-
Books. Television is mindless and counterproductive.
-
TV: it's mindless entertainment. Books are great when you want enlighten yourself, but there's something special about trashy TV. There are trashy books, too, don't get me wrong - pretty much any Ann Coulter 'book' you read basically has the same effect on your brain as huffing paint - but I find them much less enjoyable than trashy TV.
-
It really depends on my mood. There are so many genres to choose from in both, too. I really have to just either feel like reading or feel like watching TV.
-
Reading a good book!
-
Didn't someone already post this question? Book!!!
-
Not all books are top notch and not all TV is either. I'd rather watch a good show than read a bad book.
-
The only show I watch on TV is Battlestar Galactica. The rest of it is not so entertaining to me...besides I don't have a TV in the bathroom which is where I do most of my reading anyway.
-
I personally prefer a good book. There are a few TV shows that are pretty good though.
-
I would rather get lost in a good book
-
A book definately, TV is good at times but I can read anything
-
Depends on the book, depends on the show
-
Read a book :-)
-
Personally, I would rather watch TV than read a book. But, I am an extremely visual person. It is difficult for me to understand some things unless I can actually see them.
-
Even a boring book beats the television.
-
Read a book - any day!
-
Depends on the TV show, but most likely it would be to read a book.
-
Read book.
-
i think a book, nothing quite pulls you into an adventure or a mystery or so forth like a book can, it just captivates you. no tv show can set your imagination off like a train or consume you into its world.
