Just curious, if gay marriage had been stayed and the Religious Right were trying to over turn it, would you still think that Arnold & the CA Supreme Court are trying to screw the voters?

anything is possible but it doesnt seem right overturning votes.

I can't stand when the judges think they know better than the voters, no matter what law it is we're talking about.

The fundamental basis of our democratic republic is that the voters DO get told they can't have what they want. I'm sure a majority of US voters would vote for all sorts of unconstitutional discriminatory things, but our constitutional system is designed to prevent the tyranny of the majority. So, yes, I expect that either the California Supreme Court or the US Supreme Court will tell the California voters that their prejudices do not give them the power to deny fundamental rights to other people.

I think this is an issue that will continue to be an issue for years to come. Not being a resident of California my opinion matters little, but I don't see why letting same sex couple marry is a big deal.
