  • Yes! The root of the tooth is in close proximity to the ear canal so therefore the pain will pass into the ear canal or an infection has set up and is moving into the ear canal. Mr Bill
  • Of course Lippy! They are connected somehow in your head. It is very common. I once mistook a tooth ache or an ear infection! Think of how close they are on your head!
  • More than likely it is an infection either of the tooth or of the ear, and possibably both. You have done the correct thing by asking us rather than a qualified medical or dental practioner. Why waste money with professionals? Our advice is free. Just remember you get what you pay for, and you don't get what you don't pay for. Hope it gets better on its own.
  • it's all inter-connected, the nerves and etc. any swelling in the mouth, nose and throat can put pressure on ears and their tubes
  • Absolutely. That is why often a dentist will ask about your sore throat or any ear pain. And a doctor will ask about your teeth.
  • I would advise going to the dentist ASAP, the root is rotten!! It's hitting nerves, ouch!!
  • Yes but so can a sinus infection cause both to hurt.
  • Hello, I have ear pain that is dull at first then it shoots out this spiking pain. My teeth hurt, it is a dull, aching pain that is going down my neck area. So, basically my whole right side hurts from the top of my head to the base of my shoulders. What could it be EARS, TEETH, Sinusus, or ALL of them. Please let me know. Thank YOU, E.E.
  • Hello, I'm currently experiencing the same thing My lower right tooth is aching w/a wicked ear ache. I called my dentist and made an appointment . My dentist took x-rays and the x-rays didn't show any signs of decay or infection but I was told the gum around the tooth is swollen which can cause some pain. I schedule an appointment to have a cleaning done. I was also told the ear ache was unrelated to the tooth pain and to see my doctor. I saw my doctor the next day. he stated this was dental issue no signs of an ear infection. Now I caught between the doctor and the dentist and I'm still in pain.
