Ask a Tenessee attorney! Call your local legal aid center and ask them. They will know what your state laws are.

If you have a lease, that lease is binding by law to both the tennant and landlord.

First, read your lease contract. some contracts allow the landlord to an immediate eviction, for just cause. if you agreed and signed this agreement, from the beginning, you do not have much of a defense.

If this clause is not in the contract, your landlord must seek a writ of eviction. after being served, you will have 30 days in which to vacate the premises.

Again, read your signed contract. if you believe you have been violated, contact an attorney.

    This is a civil matter.

    Info. is from Nashville, Tn.
