Which would you rather have, democracy or freedom? Sometimes the two can be mutually exclusive.

Perchance, this is why my country is not a Democracy. It's a Republic. America's founding fathers understood that a purely democratic form of government was really majority rule, which meant that those in the minority positions would ALWAYS lose to the majority. Not what they wanted, considering the history of why so many peoples immigrated here.

As much freedom as reasonably possible. If there is that, it does not matter what form of government there is.
