  • The truth is that most anti-depressants work differently for different people. This is why if you are prescribed one and it does not work, your doctor will try something else until you find a thing that works for you. Brain chemistry is very different for different people. Especially if you just started a new drug, your situation may actually worsen in the beginning. I had the worst of my panic attacks about 2 days after I started Paxil - which did work in the end. Don't forget to tell your doctor if you are having these - you may need to be taking something else or a different dose.
  • I have heard that suicidal thoughts are a potential side effect of a variety of anti-deprssants, yes.
  • They shouldn't be! I'm not sure how anti-depressants work, but that's surely not the kind of side effect you should have to put up with. Give it a couple of weeks (as they're slow to get moving) and if you feel no better, I'd get them switched!
  • Maybe the side effects are the result of the dopamine your brain releases to elate a sense of euphoria.Your way to interesting to feel that way stop taking them!
