To learn things they don't understand. That's why EVERYONE ask questions. If you are taking your child somewhere new to them, of course they will ask questions. Just like someone starting a new job, you need to ask "What's this?.. What's that?" to understand things going on around you and know how things work.

It is one of the ways they learn and also to develop and nurture a sense of curiosity and motivation to gain knowledge and wisdom. Without questions there is no spark of learning, those around them may not know what they understand and how to add to what they already know.
