Is the percent applicants admitted to a college a good indicator of how hard or easy classes are?

I would venture to say its a measure of what the profs are going to expect out of you and perhaps not how hard the class is. I can't say for certain but my guess is the more selective the college is the better quality work the profs are going to expect.
