  • this happened to me too. it sucks but there is a recession going on so know youre not alone! in the meantime would you ever considering volunteering in the field you want to work in for some additional practical experience?
  • Id apply for jobs that are beneath me just to keep money in my pocket until I find something better.
  • I'm sorry that I don't have any answers for you, but the only thing I can tell you is to not give up trying to make your life better. F**k the econmony and just try to hang around some positive people and keep the alone time to a minimum. You doing alright LittleMissSunshine? You're starting to worry me a little.
  • I was unemployed for about 4 months recently, and was starting to hit rock bottom. I just went out and did any job I could, it was better than sitting around the house all day moping. I would just go out and do anything, help people, any work is better than no work. And any work is work experience on your cv. My basic philosophy is if you have two arms and two legs you can find work somewhere, somehow. I always have.
  • Well congratulations on graduating!!! That's quite an accomplishment. Find any job for now, youa re exactly right! The economy is awful right now. Send out resumes to everyone!!!!
  • That happens to more college graduates than people know. Unless you get a degree in nursing it seems that it's almost impossible to get a job with a degree. The college here graduates about 400 elem. ed teachers every year and the schools might hire 10. same way with other degrees. There are no magical answers. You may just have to take a job you didn't train for and don't want until something opens up. If you can afford it, volunteer in your degree area to get your foot in the door, If not, you may just have to get any job you can get to pay bills and HOPE
  • This is of course a really obvious question, but have you used your college's placement office? I've talked with the placement office at the Art Institute, and they recently placed over 90% of their students, but if you don't talk to them, you don't get placed. There ARE jobs out there, and some areas like Web design and Game design are actually growing. Time to: 1) Network. Get your family, friends and church all aware that you're looking, and helping to introduce you to other social circles. 2) Start small. If you can fill in for someone who is on maternity leave or something, and do a good job, it might turn into a full time job. 3) Consider relocating. There are some very hot markets for jobs, and other very cold ones. Portland Oregon, Hong Kong, and Dubai are right now, Detroit and Wall St. are stone cold. Good luck!
  • I would say you can come and work at my firm, as long as u graduated in accounting. Our industry is booming right now.

  • Fuck these people who think they can give advice when they are not in the same shoes. I am in the same situation as you, I just graduated with my second degree and i have applied for everything and anything, you name it. No replies have come back except scams, pyramid schemes or "start your own business" crap. I am female, just want to get that out of they way so I would not even consider joining the military because I don't want to be sexually harassed. Please, be careful, don't get too desperate because there are a lot of scammers who pretend to be legitimate companies who prey on people like you, keep smart, not desperate, alway question the position, you don't want something you will regret or just have to quit later. I think Obama is fucking up everything worse and unfortunately it will just get worse. My best advice is to hord food into your basement, and work on your rabbit hunting skillz.
  • Join the army and go to OCS (officer candidate school)! don't be scared you'll make nearly $60,000/year when you come in as a second lieutenant, i do!! after that the pay just goes up!! :D
  • What does Obama has to do with the economy? Bush started this garbage and left the next man to clean it UP!!!!
