You can almost always find out the subsidiaries of a company that is publicly listed using the Edgar company search which is provided by the SEC. You can search the database by going to the following URL: http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html If you place "AIG" in the "Ticker Symbol" field and click on "Find Companies", Edgar will retrieve all of the company's publicly released statements. Two very important statements are the 10-K and the 10-Q. The 10-K is a company's annual statement, and the 10-Q is the company's quarterly statement. If you look up the latest 10-K form for AIG and then click on "Subsidiaries", the website will give you a list of all of the subsidiaries of the company. I've done the hard work for you and found the list of subsidiaries for AIG as of Dec. 2007. That information is listed here: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/5272/000095012308002280/y44393exv21.htm Hope this helps!
