    Yes, they do come in downloadable mp3 format also. There are a bunch of websites for this. I have no idea if any of them are rip offs or not, so I am not going to post any, but when I searched for audio books mp3 pages of them came up.

    There are definitely mp3 versions and there are plenty of places to get them (for free as well). This place has all public domain audiobook recordings, usually in mp3 format and sometimes ogg. http://librivox.org/
