As long as the ball is not coming in bounds, they don't have to pass it to anyone.

No, in the NBA they don't have to pass the ball a certain number of times before shooting, unless of course the ball is out of bounds. The only people that can determine the amount of passes are the coach, and the players.

Other than the ball being passed in bounds, it is not necessary for a ball to be passed. Having coached for many years, I will say it is usualyy better if it is passed and worked for a better shot.

No they dont have too. The only time they pass the ball is when they want too. Some NBA players like to take the matters into their own hands

no u could pass the ball as much as u want but u only have 24 second to get a shot off.
