I do not like rap. I like R&B, Soul and Pop. I do not like the messages in most rap songs and how it refers to women or portrays them..I do not like the violence and promotion of violence in the songs... ah I could go on and on. - just my two cents anyhow

I am not against all of the rappers or songs out there, but I do think that the world could do without some of their gangsta lyrics and hatred some of them display towards women of color. Some rappers show no respect in their songs.

Well, like all music to me, it depends on the content. If it's Gangsta' Rap... yeah I hate it, but if it's clean, and I enjoy the topic or find it humorous, I enjoy it. I am a huge fan of a good bassline.

I hate rap! It's basically the only type of "music," if you want to even call it that, that I truly do not like.

It's never given me a reason to hate it. Some rap is actually really good, even though I'm not a big fan. Public Enemy....hah, that's fine by me. They've done some good songs and Flava scratches like crazy. Plus, they did a song with Anthrax that I have on my iPod.

i dont truly hate it...there are some rap artists i like-perferbaley by female artists..although iam inclined to listen to alternative as well as italian opera and spiritual music. can you imagine me, anoleus, saying stuff like yo,yo wat up homie? i think not.

I love NWA, PE and the Beastie Boys. I'm not so fond of some of the modern stuff, but I'd say that overall I like rap much more than I dislike it.

I don't really hate any kind of music... I dislike music about bitches, hoes, guns, money, cars, "bling" lol, etc. I think there are far more interesting things to make music about. Not all rap music is about these things....but most mainstream rap IS. Final answer, no I don't hate it, but I don't like some of it.

I don't hate rap..although I find some of the lyrics really offensive. on the other hand being a student of mandarin..I find Chinese rap almost impossible to understand.

the only rap i really listen to is the streets, and that's on a fairly rare occasion. i don't hate rap, i just haven't really found any that interests me.

I don't like it. Generally speaking. It's not melodic - only rhythm. The language can be troublesome or vulgar, there are slang words I don't understand, and sometimes I can't even understand words I know because of the Ebonic accent or because the rapper is swallowing the microphone or trying to impress people with how fast he can garble out sounds. And yes, I distinguish between rap and hip-hop. Although some hip-hop is as bad or worse than rap.

it all sounds alike to me - they all yell or make noises that sound like farts - the men are always disrespectful to women, how are young black men going to learn respect for themselves and women and authority figures with this disgusting stuff? its way too violent . rap has got a bad rap

i agree that the language can be colourful, but i dont hate all of it. some rap is quite intelligent. like modern day poetry. i quite like tupac. his songs "changes" and "brendas got a baby" can really make people think about what is going on in this world.

I wouldn't say hate it. It just doesn't appeal to my taste in music. No doubt, some of the artist are talented, but, I can't seem to understand a lot of the lyrics since most of them are bleeped out!

I specifically don't care about the lyrics. I do know that there is lots of profanity in it but I enjoy listening to the beat of them music. Note: I do not like gangster hardcore rap but R&B style (T-Pain)

I missold school hip hop, rap nowadays seems to be more about $$, Bitchez and bling. What happened to battles that meant something, where words not bullets were the ammo? What happened to lyrics infused with political, social and economic issues and messages? What happened to hip hop with a lesson and a message to better one's self mentally? Nowdays I like some of the beats but the words are all the same thing, just braggards rhyming on the hood of a car they don't own with a bunch of cheesy bling, surrounded by women in skimpy outfits who look like they were dowsed in baby oil and glitter. I miss Grandmaster Flash, KRS-1, BDP, Jeru Tha Damaja, The Beatnuts, and others from back when hip hop really meant something..now it's just a tool. As KRS-1 once said in his song Bring It Back :"Rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live. The difference is kids nowadays, they got the videos. Rappers don't need skills to build so they don't really know."
