There is no eternal hell in Buddhism. In Christianity, for example, there is an eternal hell where all sinners will end up after death. But, in Buddhism, there are states of existence which we can all pass through according to our particular karma. Some of these states of being might be akin to hell, resemble hell even, but the crucial difference is that all these states are temporary. Our actions will create our karma, and our karma will dictate which kind of states we will experience in our life.
