I thought so, but i was advised otherwise by AB users
-
No. In fact, I am almost positive there will be several attempts on Obama's life before he leaves office. You don't seriously think the Klan is going to put up with a black president without trying to take him out do you?
-
I wish that was the case ... but honestly, no, I don't think so. Unfortunately.
-
I honestly hope not...I think we can do a lot better!
-
No....I think now more than ever people are being more open about their ignorance....ahem....I mean racism. One thing you can always count on......the human race will never cease to dissapoint.
-
Nope :)
-
No, racism, unfortunately, is still alive and well (or unwell). Just here on AB alone I've been apalled at the racist b.s. I read almost every day. And I've met people in person who have no shame in stating how much they hate anyone of a different race. Yes, more people are aware, more people have become accepting. But, if you have racist people still having kids and raising them to be just like they are, the vicious cycle will never stop.
-
No. Racism is high now and it's going to get higher because the media is going to be squeezing all of the mileage it can out of the fact that Obamas black - OK OK OK half black - chill out, you know what I'm trying to say. But on the other hand, isn't the media always defending itself by claiming to be a reflection of society? So I look for it to get worse. All the way down to alleging that disagreeing with Obama is racist - such morons in the media - But you know what? The really sad part is that most of American society will fall right in line because they can't think for themselves; correction they can think for themselves, they won't because they're afraid of not being politically correct and "someone may be offended". They're not really offended, they're afraid to accept the challenge to actually think and reason.

Yes. You see so many more intermixed neighborhoods then you did 20 yrs ago. You seem more interacial dating then you did 20 yrs ago. You see more varied groups of kids hanging together along with their parents. The new generation does not see racism like we did they honestly dont care about skin color.
-
We can only hope that it will be someday...
-
Judging by the response of the McCain supporters, that would be a "no".
-
Are you kidding? I personally believe that Obama won the race BECAUSE of racism! Really, 96% of the black vote, and almost every young voter I talk to that voted for him, said they did so because having a black president is a "refreshing" change... On the other side of the fence, Obama is getting more death threats than any other president-elect in history... If you ask me, racism is still a very real thing in our country...
-
Either that, or the hatred of rich, old, powerful white men is at an all-time high! ;-)
-
I doubt it. It obviously shows some kind of progress, but ultimately I think Obama was voted in because of people believing he was the right man for the job, not because of his skin color. I know people who use racist terminology and say horrible things about Blacks who voted for Obama. Times are tough, the economy is bad, and some people decided their economic futures were more important than Obama's ethnicity.
-
Nope, exactly the opposite. Racism is on the upswing. The KKK and that lot is using it as a rallying point. Arguments about race, on both sides, are escalating. Whites are using it to go after blacks. Blacks are using it against whites. I think that it shall simmer down after a time but I believed that this would happen if Obama was elected.
-
no, just the opposite. many many ppl voted for him ONLY because of his race....not having the SLIGHTEST clue about who he is, what he can do, and if he can be the president of the United State of America....THE SUPER POWER.
-
Just wait until he begins to take tough economic measures and raise some taxes
-
no it's not. a lot of whites still hate blacks and a lot of blacks hate whites; and it's all because of skin color.both sides are wrong; no one should be judged on their skin color.
