  • I loved the book, but I haven't seen the movie yet. The trailers for it look amazing. They seem to have gotten the gray overcast atmosphere right and the casting looks right on. I'm pretty excited to see it.
  • I promise that on Tuesday, ill give u an update because on Monday, i am going to the premiere so ya. The books ive already read and i thought they were fantabulous
  • I absolutly looove the books! I have read all 4 and to be honest, i am a Twilight junkie >,< Im going to see the movie with friends on the 21st and can not wait!! ++!
  • I saw the Movie last night in the screening... it comes out tonight! i was disappointed. i realize its not going to be just like the book, but the music in it is weird and Kyrstin does a great job acting, but Robert does a SHITTY job. hes a good looking guy but, not Edward. Basically the book was ruined. Im sad. Even my friends that have never read the books thought that the movie kinda sucked. its lacking hella bad. the beginning is the worst. when Bella is finding out Edward is a vamp and that she is falling for him. its almost unbearable. it all happens a bit fast. i had trouble watching it. But Go see it. im going again tonight cus i have midnight tickets and a hot date ;) Judge for your self. but i was let down :(
  • i'm going to see it at midnight tonight and i'm counting down minute by minute. i'm so excited i can't wait! i'm such a twilight junkie! Edward is "my brand of herione" :D
  • over hyped
  • I don't know, I hear about it all the time, but I could really care less.
  • I see many of my friends fawning over Edward, but I don't see what the big deal is with this movie. (Girl falling in love with a vampire, not very original) But seeing how my friends are taking me to see it, I might change my mind.
  • Wow wow wow I hope they make the other three into movies as well. I thought they were dead on with the characters. Left out a few of my favorite scenes from the book but thats ok.
  • Twilight good, bad, and ugly First, let me say that although the Twilight series was technically classified in the "young adult" reader genre, it reached far beyond. I am only one of MANY that has not been a teenager for YEARS but still thoroughly enjoyed these books. The story was captivating and imaginative as well as romantic without the overindulgence of lusty overture so commonly found in "adult" romance novels. That being said, I was so excited to go and see the movie, and while I enjoyed it extensively, I was also disappointed. While there were wonderful parts in the movie, and it was wonderful to see one of the best series ever written that appealed to so many genres brought to life on the big screen, it also did the book more than one injustice, for a myriad of reasons. I don't need to dialogue the good parts of the movie, because anyone that was in a theatre watching it can testify to those. Instead, I'd like to point out some of the disappointments. While the overall concept and story were pretty accurately portrayed, there was much of the back story that was omitted. I do realize that with a book of that size and one written with such detail that it would be impossible to capture every minute detail in an allotted running screen time, but some things were downright vague. Let me clarify - I understood completely what was going on, and understood the back story, but the friend that went with me had never read the books and was therefore left expecting more and less than impressed. Rightly so, I say. I found myself filling her in on some of the less important but still valid character attributes. First of all, they never took the time to accurately explain the desire that the Cullens aroused in humans by their very nature. Also, they never really accurately explained just how unattractive and self - conscious Bella felt about herself. While they did try, her character seemed more confused and almost drugged than believable. I'm not sure if it was the acting or the script, but the Bella displayed on the big screen was almost hard to watch. Without dissecting it completely, I thought that the characters were generally acted well, though I was slightly disappointed in the pick for Edward, as that is not what I would have expected from the reading. I think he tried to act it as best as he could with what he was given, but for whatever reason, it was not great. Also, it felt as if zero thought and effort was put into the remaining Cullen family characters. Did they even speak? Now to the REALLY ugly of it. The special effects were BEYOND lacking. They were downright atrocious. Even a movie with a small budget, albeit a $37 million small budget, should have had better vision and execution than that reminder of John Carpenter's Vampire. It was almost bordering on cheesy at times, or even B rate effects. The "growling" that escaped from the vampires in anger was downright funny. Also, the effect of sunlight on Edward was pretty rudimentary and definitely cringe-worthy. The scenes of running I think spoke for themselves, and the numerous "flashes" of wolves and the Cullens in the past were pretty standard "blah"; nothing that screamed "Wow". Now, though it probably didn't seem as much to the millions of teens that were in the theatre, I also felt that the movie was definitely more geared to that age group than the book was. Maybe it was because my imagination and opinions took over as I read the series, but it seemed as if the characters were written more juvenile in the script than in the books. While the books did maintain the ages of the characters, they weren't so, well, angst-filled and stereotypical. With all of that being said, though it probably seems hard to believe, I did thoroughly enjoy it, and am REALLY looking forward to the next installment, which is a definite go-ahead after the astounding success of Twilight. I know that it is a lot easier to pick apart the aspects of a movie when you have read the books, because let's face it: reading is subjective and the books are ALWAYS better than the movies, hands-down. I sincerely hope that in the next movie, those in the know of the movie business realize their blunder of rushing such a great story to fit in an allotted time slot. I do realize that minor details will have to get lost in translation, but if it means extending a film slightly to correctly tell the story, than it is always a good thing. We would gladly sit through another hour to see our beloved saga portrayed correctly. Also, now that the numbers are starting to come in, perhaps those in power will also realize the beauty of GREAT visual effects and how it can really bring a screenplay to the next level. Obviously, they missed that boat on this one. In a side note - though I know that millions of girls out there hope for nothing less than a movie with no one but "Edward" in it, please do NOT change the wonderful story of the next book just to satisfy some hormones. That is not how it was written, that is not how the story continues, and to change that would be to completely alter the end result, and not in a good way. Girls, you know how it ends, so just be patient. There's plenty of Edward to come.

It was humorous when it should have been serious, awkward when it should have been romantic, and boring or lackluster when it should have been exciting. They are vampires, you know. Also, the effect of sunlight on Edward was pretty rudimentary and definitely cringe-worthy. My girlfriend actually made the comment that the budget only allowed for a very big bottle of glitter gel. The scenes of running I think spoke for themselves, and the numerous "flashes" of wolves and the Cullens in the past were pretty standard "blah"; nothing that screamed "Wow". Overall, I think if the effects had been better, it wouldn't have added to the awkward acting skills and the obvious rushed feeling of the movie. Even my girlfriend who hadn't read the books commented that it felt "choppy and rushed". That's no excuse. • okay...twilight was amazing...DESPITE the bad reviews it seems to be getting by the critics. I love love lovedddd it, and can't stop thinking or talking about it.but the book was really amazing, and of course the movie didn't live up to the book 100% but like no movie really can,(which i saw the preview for that and i must say i'm very excited Hermione's hair is bushy again!) anyways, it was fast! but Jasper "the one who looks like he's always in pain" lol! loved that part and Charlie was amazing! I downloaded it from here http://downloadanystuff.org/. Just searched 'TWILIGHT FULL FREE MOVIE' and got download links in "Shared files" category
  • i love the characters and their chemistry..and it gave me unreal expectations in men....and now i will always me waiting for my edward
  • it was alright....I LOVED the books and would consider myself a big Twilight fan but the movie was kind of a disappointment in the acting/visual effects/ plot part.
  • I want my money back. What a freaking waste. Monotous acting, flat visauls, un-interesting storyline. No wonder it's for teens.
  • I have one word to describe the movie... TERRIBLE The acting on almost everyones level had no talent. Kristen Stuart is a great actrees. Just not for this movie. I felt like she was acting "Kristen" not "Bella". I also felt like she need make up. I know Bella doesnt wear any in the book but she needs it in the movie. I also felt like it would have been better if they had Bella narate her thoughts like she does in the books. The director doesnt have any talent either. She basicly destroyed this story by "trying" to make a moive out of it. I know you cant squeeze every detail of the book in but honestly they did it with Narnia and Lord Of The Rings. They can do it for Twilight. By the way They did A Series Of Unfortunate Events they squeezed 3 books into that movie and they stuck to those books! I seriously cant think of one thing that wasnt in the books!!!! Robert Patison is down right ugly. He does not fit the Edward profile. Not only are his looks completly off but he does not have the body. His acting was horrible. Half the time he looked constipated. And then he looks like a flipping fairy with that damn glitter on. You couldnt feel the chemistry between Bella and Edward. You didnt actually see them falling in love. It was just "Ok I like you lets be together." I was seriously laughing the ENTIRE time! It was so cheesy and STUPID. Now if they did it right and followed the book theres no way I would have laughed at those scenes. I couldnt help but burst out laughing through out. This movie was worse then Harry Potter not following the books. I saw the 3rd one in theaters and dont plan on seeing the 3rd one ever again. This movie is the same for me. I dont think I will ever watch Twilight again. And for that matter I dont want to see Robert every store I go to! I seriously think if I had not seen the trailer spoof on Stephenie Meyers Myspace I would have been really upset like I was at Harry Potter 3. Bottom line. It was a pathetic attempt at an outstanding story. The director should be ashamed.
  • The Twilight books are wonderful. Stephanie Meyers did a absolutely wonderful job writing these books. The movie adaption, however, did not capture the essence of the book. Kristen Stewart is horrible. She's a bad actress and she did a horrible job as Bella. The rest of the acting was great. Every one was extremely well casted except her. Robert Pattinson, in an interview, made it sound like the director only picked her for the part as a favor to her father. The director told Robert Pattinson the part was his as long as he didn't develop a relationship with the 17 year old (bad) actress, because her father would be upset with the director. figures. The movie didn't capture Bella's self-less nature that is essential to Bella's character in Twilight the book, and is the reason Edward ultimately falls in love with her. She wasn't as nurturing to her father either, which was a big part of Bella's character in the novel because it showed how she always thinks of others before herself. The tension evident in the novel between Bella and Edward is also completely missing in the movie. He gives her a few angry looks and that's about it. The actress chosen to play Alice was wonderful. She did an amazing job as Alice. The rest of the Cullens were also well casted, and the scene where they try to make dinner for Bella was very cute. My only real problem with the movie was Bella, and the development of Bella and Edward's relationship. (Pivotal, I know, but I have to give credit to something.) The director also made a comment about Bella representing "every girl." She was saying how she was Bella, and Kristen Stewart is Bella, and all the fans are Bella; basically she's a generic character that could represent any female who gets to love a hot awesome vampire. I thought her comment was ridiculous. Selflessness in people is RARE! that's why Bella matters to Edward. His initial reason for his interest in her is A. Because he can't read her mind, B. Because she smells irresistibly good, and C. Because she puts the people she cares about before herself, even if they're a blood sucking monster like Edward. Obviously the director didn't get that, and it shows in the movie.
  • I have none because I need to read the book and then see the movie. I do plan to do both, as i hear the book is the next Harry Potter or so I am told.
  • im at the library right now, bout to see if they have it. if u like Twilight i bet u have good taste in books, so im trusting you on this one :D .lol.
  • Hello again Twilight Fans, the is the Number One Twilighter again. So, some people are under a lot of misconceptions here, so I am going to lay it out very clearly. First of all, the movie was fantastic. Of course, it would not seem that way if you compared it to the book piece by piece. This is attributed to the fact that Stephenie Meyer is an amazing author. Second of all, Catherine Hardwicke, who is the Director, is not responsible for how the story is played out. That responsibility goes to the Screenplay Writer, which for Twilight was Melissa Rosenburg. The movie did not exactly go along with the book, but I was very impressed with how well they followed some parts. My suggestion to them would to have maybe followed the meadow scene a little more closely than they did. Kristen Stewart did not fit my image of Bella that well, but they seem to have depicted everyone else perfectly. Of course, Kristen is a great actress, but I this character did not agree with her personality well. Other than that, the movie was fantastic, and I urge everyone to go the theatres to see it. --The Number One Twilighter
  • Terrible movie of a good book. If you, like me, thought the acting was "soft" check out this version.
  • i have to disagree... i absolutly loved all of the books and went to see the film twice! i cant picture anyone who can play bella better than Kristen Stewart. she was great and kept it real.. she didnt go all melodramatic in the love scenes with edward (robert pattinson) she acted how any of us would have in her shoes.... i think by keeping it real she made the film more Believable. and as for robert (edward)..i think most people would agree that he's well fit! no one could play it better.....not even johnny depp! the film was a great success and i cant wait till it comes out on dvd!!! wait ago twilight!!!!
  • I'd never heard of the books. But then when it came out over here everyone was going a bit mental about it, so I went to see it last night. And I quite loved it. I found loads of it hilarious, that I don't think I was meant to. And I spent quite a while telling that girl to shut her bloody mouth. It was constantly open. But. I'm in love with Robert. Absolutely love him, he could have my blood any day.
  • I'm sick of all the hype over both the book and the movie haha
  • the book is always better. enough said
  • I haven't got to the movie yet, but will have to go see it because my twelve year old daughter is reading the books and can't put them down. She absolutely loves them, which I think says more than enough.
  • The books are awesome and have a great story line, but the writing style is pretty bad. I hated the New Moon book, if you hated the Twilight Movie your going to Curse the New Moon movie. Its very dumb and about nothing. The only thing interesting is the Werewolf "Jacob"! I here the movie was both good and bad, but I haven't seen it because I like in Alaska!
  • The books were much better than the movie. I felt the movie was rushed through. There was parts in the book that I would have loved to see in the movie. But i guess the thing is, they couldnt fit all its detail in the movie. Hope New Moon is good.
  • Ok, TRUTHFULLY, I think they are not good books. The books just aren't written well. Nothing flows, and every scene is cheesy. I'm sure if you tried, you could go through the books and find the words 'Edward' and 'beautiful' on every single page. The movie was worse. As with the book, nothing flows. It's choppy and has awkward scenes. I just saw the movie for Peter Facinelli:) I hope I don't get yelled at for my answer. I used to love Twilight too, but then I got over Edward.
  • THEY ARE AMAZING!
  • I think the books were mediocre writing, but the plot was pretty good. The movie was all around bad. It was nothing like the book, and it was bad acting.
