  • I had a lot of complications, but I was up and around in about 12 hours (albeit with some dizziness - I lost a lot of blood). Motrin was enough to curb the pain for the most part. Believe me, walking is not what hurts - it's sitting. Seriously.
  • Most of the mothers I've known were up and walking quickly usually within 2-6 hours. One was up right away after a home birth to clean off in the shower but she was an old hand at it and had had 3 children all at home before.
