Men's brains react differently to stimuli than women's brains. Also, while it may SEEM like men are more violent, it's probably about equal. Women are much more willing to report an attack by a man than a man is to report getting attacked by a woman. It's a pride thing.

Perhaps they are. It might not be popular to say (and I love men, and think when you find a good one, it is the best thing in the world.) But a clear example would be the number of men who kill their entire family and then turn the guns on themselves versus the number of women who do the same thing. I don't have the figures handy on this, but there was a Time Magazine article on this issue a few years ago and it is virtually unheard of the other way around. So perhaps the answer is that it SEEMS that way because it is statistically true. I don't know this to be true, but I suspect that in a number of statistical comparisons, that would appear to be the case.
-
Because they are more violent than women.
-
Men have more testosterone.
-
They hit harder, so thus SEEM more violent. I like the testosterone answer.. so true. Same with dogs, like two males.. no way! To females.. no problem! I am a man, and the only pp I want to see is mine! This is THE reason.
-
This question is almost to obvious to answer. Why? because no woman should ever have to really know violence. It's one of the uglier things good men deal with, (the need to be violent, to prevent violence to the innocent). But as far as violence of men toward women, well, there is just no excuse for that, ever. Absolutely no excuse.

I belive that generation after generation boys are taught to fight, take control, be strong, dont cry. With that said, TOO many take it to manhood to a whole different level. Also alot of it is environmental, they do what they see. In other cases they are raging maniacs, that is them, that is what they are made of. It sickens me to see the escalating violence against women. The number ONE cause of death in pregnant women is homicide. A woman is beaten these days EVERY 6 seconds, by the man who "loves her." The more this continues the worse it gets, it never stops. Lastly if a woman tries to leave a maniac like that, he chances of living are slim. Restraining orders dont work, jail time doesnt work. I hope the next generation is alot more passive. This is an epidemic and must stop!!!!

Primal instinct. The "male" feels as if he needs to protect his surroundings, his possesions, etc.
-
Ug! We men have too much testerone inside. We violent! Its usually stereotypical like the saying "boys don't cry". Although more recently cases of domestic violence by women are rising from some articles I read a few weeks ago.
-
Simple answer, testosterone.
-
you need to come on a night out where i live i think you will change your mind pretty quick LOL im not joking from my experience women are worse than men
-
It does not always seem like that to me.
-
Women are clearly more intouch with there emoitions.and therefore can control them better.
-
i think that testosterone is a part though i also believe that it is the individual person. I know men who will not fight and then woman that are at times uncontrollable with their tempers and visa versa. It is your up bringing, your exposure and a great deal of other things not just the man or woman factor.

Women (so I'm taught) prioritize 'connecting' over 'achieving' whereas men prioritize 'achieving' over 'connecting'. Achieving often requires one to be more focused on self, self preservation and self promotion. Connecting requires one to be aware and receptive to others and their feelings.

"Testosterone poisoning"

It is mans nature to be the hunter and the protector. This is structured into his genetic makeup. It is one of the traits that differentiates him from the woman. Woman is the caregiver and the nurturer. This is a fact that displays itself throughout nature. This genetic structure is what enables families to survive and prosper in all walks of life whether they be human or animal.

Quite a few people have mentioned that for a female I am more masculine that the norm, that I punch like a bloke and can drink a biker under that table. ;o)
-
In general men appear to be more violent than woman, however in the real world .. From my 17 years experience as a police officer, both men and woman can be equally as violent. I have witnessed females literally beat men to the ground and we had to use force to control them.

one word: testoterone

Macho is ugly!

"But as far as violence of men toward women, well, there is just no excuse for that, ever. Absolutely no excuse." IMO = "The implication seems to be that men need to deal with violence in order to protect the 'innocent' i.e. women. This seems to put women on the same level as helpless children who are incapable of looking after (or thinking?) themselves. Maybe that's not what you meant, but that's how it comes across."
-
Because, Most men are physically stronger than women Oh yeah and of course the media!
-
UUUhhh.. because they ARE?
-
The key word here is obviously "seem". The difference between men and women when it comes to violence is that women think it through, while men act on impulse. A woman will think about what it is she WANTS to do, but once she comes to the conclusion that it may hinder her future, children, and/or what she's worked hard to earn, it doesn't seem like a top priority, lol. And 9 times out of 10 a real lady knows how to get under anyone's skin without laying a finger on them.
